sometimes it's just a purple, gold, and zebra print kind of day

Wow, I didn't have an entry all last week! Things are in full swing crazy for me right now as I've begun my final year of my Master's program. Along with class at night, I've got all kinds of commitments during each day of the week. At least I'm surrounded by lots of sweet little kiddos all week, which makes it okay :)

Some days are just days when you want to go all out fun with your outfit to bring some much needed excitement, and this was one of those days. I picked out this top because it is another one that has a moisture wicking effect and it was a hot day. Then as I was deciding which pair of pants to pair with it, I loved the idea of the purple. Then I got excited, because I knew this fun purple and gold stone necklace would be great. And finally I couldn't stop myself by finishing the look off with my gold jelly flats. What do you think, would you wear a look like this? And do you have the same kind of days where you want to bring excitement with your outfit?

aztec and gold

Here is my new H&M necklace again! It goes perfectly with this aztec print top. I love the aztec trend, and this top is adorable, but I can't remember where I got it from, sorry! I do know, though, that these Dr. Scholl's wedges are some of the most comfortable wedges I've ever owned!

Keeping it simple

I have been so in love with this color combination lately of cobalt blue and maroon. They look so good together! I decided to keep it simple with more dainty gold accessories and I threw on my gold jelly flats. Isn't this little nautical necklace from Forever 21 cute? It adds the perfect touch to this outfit, and the amazing part is that it was only $1.80!! Seriously, Forever 21 is THE BEST place to go for jewelry on a budget.

Top: Kohls
Coated jeans: Kohls, not available anymore
Shoes: Mel shoes, sold out
Necklace: Forever 21 (exact here- $1.80)
Gold ring: Forever 21, sold out

Black and Mustard

You may recognize this as Outfit 2 in my 7X7 REMIX. I love this combination with the black on top and mustard on the bottom, because I think it just looks nice and pulled together, without actually having to try hard at all. All I did was throw on a gold necklace and a gold ring to pull it all together in a simple way. I'm not wearing my shoes in these pictures unfortunately, since I took these during a brief visit home in the middle of the day and my shoes usually come off when I walk in the door. But just try to picture it with my brown TOMS.

Top: H&M
Pants: Carson's

Disneybound Day 30/April 30th Outfit

Phew, I made it through a whole month of Disneybounding! Tomorrow I just have to do my make up day, and then I'll have completed all 30 days. It's really been a fun journey. This personal challenge inspired me to put outfits together that I never would have thought of before. It also brought a little excitement to each day as I channeled a different Disney character- I'm a Disney geek and not ashamed of it (I work with little kids, what else would you expect? ;) ). I will be eager, though, to start wearing some new pieces that I got that didn't fit in with any Disneybounding I could think of.

I'm giving a presentation in my class tonight- no big deal, but I think this outfit works great for it.

Magic Carpet

When I saw this shirt, it screamed Magic Carpet to me. And I bet you won't guess where I got it from... Kmart. They really do have some great items there for fantastic prices. This top is really cute in person! I'm wearing my coated plum colored skinny jeans, but it's hard to tell. This necklace I just got from Mod Deals. It was my first order from them and I was really impressed with the quality of the items. The prices were great as well and I will definitely be ordering from them again!

Top: Kmart (unfortunately, I can't find anything similar to this one, but there are tons of cute patterned tops here)
Necklace: Mod Deals (exact- $6.50)
Bracelet: Groopdealz (similar- $5)
Ring: Forever 21 (similar- $2.80)
Shoes: Mel (exact- $25)
