So if I could only shop at one store for the rest of my life, it would without a doubt be H&M. I am in love with this sweatshirt I got recently from them. It's the perfect amount of oversized and comfortable. And and sweatshirt you can wear out of the house? WIN. Because it utilizes lace, one of my favorites, as you all know. And as you may not know, I also have a love for grey. So I wore the top with my skinny jeans to grad school class at night, and paired it with a pop of pink in my ring and this adorable bird necklace from Old Navy. And oh my goodness, we had a special guest in our class this night- a mouse!! That's right, my feet were immediately up on my chair and remained there while my feet fell asleep as long as I could stand it. No shame.

layers

I wore this out in the very snowy day we had on Sunday (under layers of coats, gloves, and boots, of course). This is a fun draped cardigan that really hangs nicely, and I paired it with the scarf my brother got me for Christmas. When you have loose layers on top, like a draped cardigan/shirt and a hanging scarf, it's important to balance it out with a more fitted bottom, like these skinny jeans. Because otherwise you'll look like a potato sack, and trust me, you don't want that! And in full disclosure, I took this shot quickly on my way out the door so I didn't take time to make it look perfect. But you can still at least see the outfit, right? And you can always click on them to see them bigger!

I went shopping last week and found this shirt for $2.89 at Kohl's. Then with my 30% off discount, it ended up being less than $2!! I still can't get over how awesome that price is. Plus it is striped, and it contains my favorite color (yellow), along with my two favorite colors to pair it with (blue and grey). I think it's safe to say this shirt was meant for me, just sitting on the rack waiting for me to come along and pick it up.

I recently created twitter, pinterest, and instagram accounts for the blog. It was getting too tricky trying to use my personal accounts for these social media sites, so I just decided to keep it separate. floral pants

I used to be way too scared to ever wear floral pants. They seemed way too "loud" for me to pull off. But I was intrigued, so I bought a pair on super sale on a whim, and I realized I really liked them! This is my second pair now, from Loft, and I adore them because they are super comfy and fit like a dream. But I think the key to pulling off floral pants if you are worried about them being too loud is pairing them with a really simple, understated top. And solid grey fits this description perfectly. So I paired this grey button up babydoll type top (also super comfy!) with enough visual interest and enough simplicity to let the pants speak for themselves!

Purple Maxi Skirt

I'm not a skirt in everyday life kind of girl. I'm more of a wear pants every chance I get kind of girl. And I'm not even sure why, because skirts can be very comfortable and also nice and cool in the summer. I think I just could never get it out of my head that they should be dressed up. So when I saw the Trend of the Month at Marionberry Style was maxis, I decided to challenge myself with it by taking this old skirt and dressing it down in a very casual way. And it was comfy and painless! I got these sandals a little over a year ago and they are one of my favorite pairs because they really look great with almost everything. Then for accessories, I put on this aztec ring and this neon bracelet Charlotte Russe. Neon is so big right now, and I love how bright and fun this bracelet is!

7x7 Outfit: Grey and Polka Dots

I had to snap these photos quickly and I was right out of the shower, so they're not the nicest. Oops. But today I am wearing one of my 7x7 remix outfits, outfit 3 to be exact. I decided to go with a more circular theme with my accessories to subtly tie in the polka dots. I love this mint bubble necklace, and I think it fits perfectly with the easygoing vibe of the outfit, while adding a lot more interest to it.

Imitation is the Sincerest form of Flattery: May 13th Outfit

I copied this outfit from a recent post of Audrey's at Putting Me Together, so it probably looks very familiar. I hope she doesn't mind. I debated on posting this outfit at all, but I really loved the simple look and had all the pieces, so I decided to recreate it. And this way you can see how it looks on someone else as well. I wore this outfit to a May Crowning Mass, out for errands, and then working. Grey and yellow is one of my favorite color combinations! I really don't know why I don't wear this scarf more often.

Grey and Purple: May 11th Outfit

Despite it being the middle of May, it was freezing on Saturday, so I had to dress warmly. We went out to dinner with extended family to celebrate Mother's Day at a delicious Mongolian restaurant. I just got this scarf from ModDeals and was so excited to have the opportunity to wear it. I got it for $5 and I could not be more thrilled with it- it's gorgeous and the quality is fantastic. Plus one side is more purple-ish and one side is more goldfish, so you could feature either side out. I wore it with a basic long sleeve grey top and my go-to purple skinny jeans. Then because I didn't want it to look too wintery- I threw on these sandals. Sure my feet were cold outside, but it was worth it to have that reminder that it is in fact Spring!

Disneybound Day 28/April 28th Outfit

Nearing the end of my month of Disneybounding, I went on the search for a unique character to do that I hadn't previously thought of. And I actually really love the outfit I came up with as a result

Etch (from Toy Story)

I never thought I'd say one day that my outfit was inspired by an etch-a-sketch, but there you go. This was the first time I got to wear this top (which I love and found on Storenvy), and I really love it paired with my red skinny corduroys. I can't imagine it looking better with any other color pants. Red and grey is a great color combination! I also love these shoes to complete the outfit. And I just noticed my hand looks grossly bruised in this picture. Sorry about that- I promise it's actually fine!

Disneybound Day 26/April 26th Outfit

I had the morning off from working today, at it's amazing all I was able to get done with the extra time in the morning! So I didn't actually get dressed until the afternoon, when I went to go to work, knowing full well that the kids would want to play outside on this nice day. Therefore I kept it casual

I like the big, thick stripes on this zip-up sweater, which is hooded. Sometimes big horizontal stripes aren't flattering, but this is. I think it has to do with the way the pockets are positioned and defined. I watched Pocahontas yesterday, so that was my inspiration :) I am going to start switching out my winter clothes for summer ones, and this sweater will be going into storage until Fall, so I'm glad I got to squeeze in one more wear with it!

Because with the crazy rain we've gotten, my grad school class was canceled tonight due to flooding at the campus. To add to that, I've had an awful migraine all day. So there went my motivation to do anything, including getting dressed nicely. This morning I went to work in my pajamas (the benefit of being a nanny for family) and finally before I went back to work in the afternoon I managed to put this on

Disneybound Day 16/April 16th Outfit

I had a doctor's appointment early this afternoon and then had to go to class right after. I wanted to be comfortable and casual for my doctor's appointment, but I wanted to look decent for class as well.

Dumbo

First of all, excuse how bulky my waist looks. I was wearing my abdominal binder that I have to wear for 8 weeks post surgery, and it's not the most flattering. I wore a simple grey tshirt and jeans combination, but I added accessories to pull it together and also incorporate Dumbo. I think this is a good example of how to take a super simple and casual outfit but still make it look put together. I also love a grey and yellow color combo.
