just more dangerous cold...

Well, the schools are closed again today, so my second day of student teaching is being spent stuck at home too. Oh well, at least the kids will be safe and warm at home. And meanwhile I'm trying to make the most this time to get things done in the house. Here's a casual outfit I wore last week.

Also, #ImGettingFit2014 doesn't officially start until February, I believe, but I've started sharing my workouts and healthy meals on instagram get started. I'd love for you to join me, the more the better, because the more encouragement we can all offer each other! The link to my instagram can be found in the sidebar and here.

loose fitting clothes

Thursday was one of those days where I really didn't want to leave the house, but I had to go to class. So if I had to leave, I figured I might as well be comfortable. This oversized top from H&M is so awesome because it fits the bill perfectly. I wore it with some jeans, black boots, simple gold jewelry, and this scarf that I recently made! The whole thing was crocheted with my fingers, so it was so easy that anyone could do it! And I'm really digging how it turned out.

Happy hump day!

white and leopard

I pinned a similar version of this outfit a long time ago and I finally got the chance to wear it! I love everything about this outfit. Like a lot. You may remember when I talked about how I had searched for the perfect leopard scarf for so long, and I was so excited when I finally found this one, and for only $5. I also think that a white sweater of some kind is a great fall/winter wardrobe staple.

What are some of your favorite pinned outfits? I'd love to see them!

feeling girly

This is such a girly outfit, with pink and purple and flowers galore. I love how sweet it looks, and it's fun to show my girly side sometimes. And I know I've talked about my purple skinny jeans before and how much I love them, but can we give them a moment here? Imagine this outfit with regular denim for a second. Not as much pop at all! If you're thinking about getting your first pair of colored jeans, I'd definitely say purple is the way to go. These were my first and I fell in love. They're darker and not as "loud", so they're not as intimidating to wear. But they still really bring outfits to the next level and look a little bit dressier as well.

Purple skinny jeans: do you own a pair? Do you want a pair?

white button up casual

A shout-out to Audrey from Putting Me Together for this top, because she was selling it online and I snatched it up! I had been looking for a relaxed white button up, and this is perfect. I wore it to class so I kept it casual- untucked with skinny jeans. Then I added my orange tribal pendant necklace and this orange stone ring to add a little bit of an unexpected take to the look. Do you own a white button up?

Colorblocked

I like this top from StyleMint, because I don't have anything else like it. It's a bold look, plus it also contains my high school colors, which makes me a little nostalgic. Normally I would wear this top with some black or denim skinny pants, but it was so hot this day, that I had to go with capris. I went with my brown capris, which still work with this top, even though there's no brown with the top. I used to be scared to play around with neutrals, because even though Stacy and Clinton have told us numerous times that they go together, it just didn't seem right. But I see, of course, that they were correct. I went with a simple and architectural ring and necklace to kind of keep with the feel of the top.
